v2.4.0 ships Marathi, Punjabi, and Odia voice agents — the result of a six-month language-data effort with native-speaker linguists in Pune, Amritsar, and Bhubaneswar. This brings the total to twelve Indian languages live on voice.
Each language ships with full code-switching support — meaning a customer can mix English mid-sentence (which they will, constantly) and AIVA tracks it without dropping context. The acoustic models were trained on regional accents within each language, not just the Mumbai/Delhi/Bengaluru variants.
How we validated quality
- ~12 hours of labelled real-call audio per language, balanced across age and region.
- Blind A/B testing against the Google & Microsoft equivalents — AIVA preferred by native speakers in 76% of pairs.
- Internal evals scored on five axes: word error rate, intent accuracy, code-switching, response naturalness, and prosody.
Available to all customers from today. No config changes needed — just set language: "mr", "pa", or "or" on your assistant. Voice docs.
